Springride Rubber Bellows
The DUNLOP group was one of the first manufacturers of airsprings for pneumatic suspensions in Europe. They have been rapidly accepted as standard equipment on public transport systems using convoluted airsprings also known as bellows.
Bellows produced by DUNLOP are marketed with the brand name SPRINGRIDE and found on buses and underground railways throughout the world, for example in Paris, Chicago and Caracas.
The SPRINGRIDE bellows range has found many other applications as a suspension; they are used on jacks, service platforms and lift axle systems.
Bellows are ideal suspensions for specific vehicles where space utilisation needs to be optimised, such as trucks for transporting cars.
Traffic conditions are continuously changing and new requirements for airsprings have emerged in the last decade: rolling lobe type airsprings or straight airsprings are now standard for buses (dismountable diaphragms) or semitrailers (crimped diaphragms). On tractors, both types may be found.
Here again, DUNLOP offers a full range of airsprings recently developed using the latest technology. The pistons, for example, are produced in aluminium or glassfibre reinforced plastic thus offering low weight and exceptional corrosion resistance.
