Liqui-Cel® Membrane Contactors are modular and efficient devices that are used for transferring gases to and from liquid streams. They have a small footprint and do not use chemicals to operate. Oxygen removal to < 1ppb and CO2 removal to < 1ppm in the semiconductor, power, pharmaceutical, medical/analytical, food/beverage, photographic, digital printing, paper and other industries are common applications.
For example, in the power and industrial areas, boiler feedwater degassed to prevent the corrosion of boilers, piping and equipment. In the semiconductor and ink markets, high levels of O2 can cause lower yields and reduce process speeds. Liqui-Cel Contactors can also used to add gasses to liquids to enhance megasonic cleaning. The beverage industry looks to membrane contactors for carbonation, nitrogenation and O2 removal. The devices are typically installed to remove CO2 to improve the effieciency of ion exchange/EDI units.
