T.E.S. Builds Everlasting Relationship

Press Release Thursday, July 21, 2011

Teriskano Engineering Solutions (T.E.S.) has been appointed the official local distributor for Everlasting Valves USA.

One-stop engineering, valve and instrumentation company Teriskano Engineering Solutions (T.E.S.) has been appointed the official African supplier for US-based Everlasting Valve Company.

Extensive background checks and a long working relationship has culminated in the Sasolburg-based company’s appointment to establish Everlasting Valve’s process and bulk material handling valves in the local market where it already boasts a significant installed base.

Formalities were concluded during a visit by Everlasting Valve Company’s David Jenkins to South Africa in mid-June and have already lead to T.E.S. being awarded a lucrative local contract.

“David Jenkins came to South Africa to check on the progress being made by T.E.S. and to ensure that we were moving in the right direction,” states T.E.S. director Petrus Mphuthi.

T.E.S. will now be responsible to provide local sales and service on all Everlasting Valve products. It has also just moved into its own 780m2 workshop where it will cater repairs on the brands that it distributes.

Mphuthi explains that T.E.S. has found many local valve repair companies not to be repairing valves in accordance with distributor specifications. He notes that the use of inferiorly repaired products creates a significant problem in terms of reliability. “We want to stop this cycle and repair our own brands to the original manufacturer’s requirements.”

To date T.E.S. has specialized in the supply of material valves, process valves and diverter valves, focusing on developing and catering solutions to the petrochemical, chemical, mining, power generation, industrial and engineering-type markets. The company has also been appointed as distributors for a profile of engineered control valve solutions from VALTEK SULAMERICANA, as well as STRACK GMBH engineered valves.

“The reason that we have opted to represent these three main brands is because of how we can apply them in the industry,” says Mphuthi. “They fit in with our planning and - at the end of the day - it does not make sense to have ten agreements and not be able to be responsible to those brands.”

T.E.S. was started up three years ago as a direct result of a shared love and passion for valves. Sylvan Naidoo and Petrus Mphuthi merged more than 25 years of local valve and actuation experience in T.E.S. in order to offer tailored solutions to problematic plants. “Everlasting has recognised that passion in our company as well as our ability to cater effectively to the local valve market,” adds Mphuthi.

Also setting the black-owned BBBEE level 3 company apart from the competition is its unique approach to business. T.E.S. prides itself on listening to the customer, identifying the problem at hand, and offering a workable solution – even if the solution does not involve one of its three main selected brands.

“We want our customers to have confidence in that we are genuine and know that we will find them the correct solution. To us it is not about the money, or the quickest sale, it is about building relationships with our clients and growing a reputation for offering solutions,” says Mphuthi. “We always get a smile, no matter what mood the client or engineer is in, as they know that here come two people that not only recognizes their need, but will also take into account the person that they are dealing with.”

T.E.S. also believes strongly in promoting good working skills. It is prepared to show faith in people and afford opportunities to those that may not be regarded in the industry as ‘top-notch’. “In the end it is the faith that one puts in people that will realize results,” he concluded.
