The awards, presented by Design World Magazine and their online community, Design World Online, designworldonline.com, were voted on by readers and online community members in a number of categories, including advanced materials, motion control, and digital manufacturing, among others.

igus engineers develop new plastic compounds each year for use in its iglide bearings. Each of these materials is tested extensively in the igus lab in Cologne, Germany. Using this data, igus engineers can offer a precise prediction of the lifetime for an iglide bearing in nearly any given application.
