Kira Valves purchase of a 36’’ Webster & Bennet vertical boring mill has been an integral addition to its’ current range of machinery. The chuck diameter of almost a meter allows for machining of large bore valves up to 500mm. A 1250 metre swing and adjustable bridge is key when machining gate valves with various face to face. This machine will allow us to machine valve seats that are damaged due to wear, valve gates, butterfly discs, flange faces, etc. The machine weighs 8 tons and has a 4 Jaw chuck with multi tool holders, this allows for a quick interchange of the machining process required. An easson 2 axis digital read out was retro fitted this the machine as it will allow essential accuracy when machining which we believe is critical when offering a quality product.
