SASOL Temane Ethernet Network Installation

Rubicon was commissioned to supply, trench, install and terminate 120 000 meters of Fiber Optic Cable and to supply and commission an Industrial Ethernet Network via the fibers at Temane in Mozambique on behalf of Foster Wheeler Projects for SASOL PETROLEUM LIMITADA.
The cable was laid at a depth of 900mm and all trenching and civil work was performed by Rubicon Cables. In addition to the trenching and installations of the cabling all Ethernet Switches, Enclosures, Termination (i.e. Fiber Splicing) and relating materials where supplied and installed by Rubicon Cables.
On completion the cable route was marked at 100m intervals with Concrete Fiber Optic Cable Route Markers.
The Trenching, Laying of the cable, Termination, Testing and Marking of the entire network was completed within 13 weeks.
Rubicon supplied SASOL with end of job documentation which included Cable Route Drawings, Optical Signal Loss Diagrams, Cabinet Layout Drawings, Network Layout
Schematic Drawings, OEM Suppler Info, Test Results, User Manuals and a delivery of spares required for maintenance.
