Fifty years ago, Shaw Almex revolutionized the conveyor belt industry with a patented air bag pressure system. With the introduction of the UBR vulcanizer Shaw Almex is again setting the technical standard against which all other vulcanizers

will be measured. The UBR vulcanizer has been awarded a patent with three more pending, making it not only the most

advanced vulcanizer in the world, but also the lightest, safest and easy to use.

 

The High Tensile Restraint (HTR) system developed exclusively by Almex for the UBR press, eliminates the need for heavy pressure bolts and provides a system that is significantly lighter, stronger, more rugged, corrosion proof, and designed to reduce injury in handling. Additionally, the HTR bands store inside the beams for easy transportation.

 

New ultra light UBR beams weigh only 13.5 kg/meter, almost 50% lighter than the existing SVP beams. With the unique

connector system the UBR vulcanizer can be configured for 100 psi operation using three beams or by adding an additional beam, the vulcanizer can operate at 200 psi for steel cable splicing. The connector blocks also serve as an integrated safety system.

 

Patent-pending UBR heating elements utilize a unique technology that reduces energy consumption by 40% allowing for smaller power supplies or generators, reducing overall cost per splice.

 

When used with the patent-pending SG1 control panel and ALMEXPAD computer tablet the technician has more information and control than with any other system. Real time data on pressure, vulcanizer temperature, ambient temperature and humidity, are all streamed wirelessly to the tablet allowing for one-touch operation and comprehensive reporting.
