20 May, 2013: The South African division of Cummins - a global leader in the manufacture, sales and servicing of diesel engines and related technology - exhibited its comprehensive product offering to more than 80 000 guests that are expected to attend the 46th annual NAMPO Harvest Day from May 14 to May 17, 2013.

The NAMPO Harvest Day - which is hosted in Bothaville, Free State, by Grain South Africa -constitutes one of the largest privately owned and organised exhibitions in the world, in addition to being the largest show of agricultural machinery and livestock in the Southern Hemisphere.

Having exhibited at the NAMPO Harvest Day for the past eight years, Cummins SA marketing & communication manager, Nic Alexandre, points out the sheer scale of the event serves as the ideal platform to display products and to directly liaise with a large target market simultaneously.

"Cummins has a large customer base in the agricultural, industrial and construction sectors of South Africa. Our service offering to the agricultural market includes pumps, engines and generators that are used in almost all farming applications," he notes. "Bearing this in mind, we exhibited relevant pumps, PowerGeneration products and engines for these applications. We will also be exhibiting filtration and lubrication, while specialists will be onsite to assist with customer queries."

Alexandre adds that the Cummins range of B and C Series engines have proven to be highly reliable in the international farming market to date. "With over three-million Cummins B Series engines in operation around the globe today, there is no question that these engines are proven performers. Available in a range of ratings from 80 to 173 hp, these midrange engines deliver strong reliable performance with minimum maintenance."

Due to the advanced design and excellent manufacturing processes of Cummins, Alexandre notes that the fuel consumption of the Cummins C Series automotive engine is 20 per cent lower than other competing engines. "What's more, the Cummins range of C Series automotive engines have a better service life, lower maintenance and overhaul cost, when compared to similar engines."

According to Cummins SA whole goods account support spokesman Hendrik van Schalkwyk, the company will also be highlighting its service and support capabilities at the event. "Cummins SA has parts and service outlets in Bloemfontein, Kimberley and Kathu, and provides 'technician-in-the-van' for onsite breakdowns and smaller repairs. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the extensive Cummins warranty, which is fully reinstated once the engines have been reconditioned by a Cummins branch."

Cummins South Africa will be exhibiting at Stand 57 D&E throughout the entire duration of the NAMPO Harvest Day. To find out more about the event, visit www.nampo.co.za
