Clearsep Automatic Self-Cleaning Filter

Filtration in this equipment is based on surface filtration philosophy using welded wedge wire filter element, which offers unique 2D surface filtration. As the filter element used is of welded wedge wire construction, the solid particles higher than the slot opening (i.e. filtration rating) are retained on its surface while the smaller particles are allowed to escape easily. Normally they never get trapped across the filter element itself.

With the purge valve closed, the feed liquid enters the filter at its inlet and comes out as filtrate from the outlet under feed pump pressure while solid particles are retained on the filtering surface. As the filtration continues, inside to outside with respect to filter element, solids will build up on the filtering surface, which is continuously cleaned by ‘rotating brush assembly at low r.p.m.

As the rotating brushes continuously clean the filtering surface filtration rate is normally not affected. Since the purge valve is closed solid particles get concentrated inside the filtering element. This will lead to increase in differential pressure between the inlet and the outlet. Based on the preset differential pressure & or the preset timer purge valve automatically opens for a brief period discharging the slurry concentrated with solid particles. A control panel monitors the complete filter operation.

Advantages: Continuous CIP filtration, unattended operation, no consumables, negligible maintenance, reliable and consistent filtration, filtration down to 30 micron

Application: For all free flowing liquids with low percentage of solids, like sea water, river water, cooling water, effluent water, recovered oil etc.
