Great Basin Gold required a dust control solution for the decline and underground area which would not only be cost effective, but which would control dust for long periods of time without constant re-application and would not stick to vehicles.
Soil & Dust Solutions was contacted and asked to provide a total turn key solution for providing dust control for the entire decline and underground area.
Soil & Dust Solutions conducted the initial site assessment, confirmed measurements of the decline and maintenance areas which were to be treated; provided the product, delivery, and application.
On the scheduled day of the application the equipment which was allocated was not available and an innovative solution of utilizing a forklift to carry the product container attached to a pump and hose setup which was then used to apply the product to the decline area.
The product applied by Soil & Dust Solutions was a highly effective dust control agent which works as a perpetual wetting agent continuously wicking the soil particles together. Meeting and surpassing all environmental requirements, as well as providing a vapour free and odourless result, which actually improves the wearing course as it acts as a compaction aid, the client was very pleased with the results. The product will not stick to tyres or vehicles.
The applictaion rates recommended by Soil & Dust Solution take into account the type and volume of traffic as well as the amount of fugitive dust. Application rates can be tailored to last for as long as 9-12 months, or more frequent applications of smaller amounts to meet budgets.
