Charge
To "charge" the BA furnace refers to the process of lighting or firing the furnace. This process involved turning on the pilot gas, turning on the main gas, and then using a torch to light the pilot light so that the temperature of the furnace begins to rise to the desired "cooking or soak" temperature.
